“The Rings of Power” is set thousands of years before “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit,” serving as an indirect prequel that takes place during the Second Age of Middle-earth. While they’re played by different actors, “The Rings of Power” features a few characters that also appeared in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” movies, including Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), Isildur (Maxim Baldry), and Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker).

You can watch “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” exclusively on Prime Video. New episodes premiered every Friday through October 14. All eight episodes of the first season are now available to stream.
